Thank you for your interest in attending our upcoming event on Wednesday, November 17th, 12:00pm (Eastern).
We're thrilled to welcome Ashbery's Royal KMM typewriter to the Poetry Room with this "Lunch Poems" workshop hosted by Ashbery biographer Karin Roffman (author of "The Songs We Know Best: John Ashbery's Early Life," 2017) and Emily Skillings (editor of "Parallel Movement of the Hands, Five Unfinished Longer Works by John Ashbery," 2021).
The dynamic duo will discuss the poet's writing process and present several “exercises in not making sense,” as well as some writing/collaging experiments that Ashbery concocted for his students.
NOTE: We will live-stream this event via Zoom and (pending Covid updates) we hope to offer in-person attendance to a small audience at the Poetry Room. We will post in-person registration info on our website and via social media by November 10th. Registering for the Zoom event will not preclude you from attending the event in the Poetry Room.
