Happy Birthday, Emily Dickinson! A Celebration of Poetry and Art
Back by popular demand, it’s a Zoomin’ birthday party for Emily Dickinson!

Houghton Library's 7th annual bash celebrates America’s cherished poet and the people she’s inspired. We’ve invited a roster of distinguished artists to share their favorite Dickinson poems and tell us how they’ve been influenced by Miss Emily:

Jen Bervin
Rosanna Bruno
Ana Cordeiro
Sophie Herxheimer
Craig Hella Johnson
Emily Lau
Tracy K. Smith

We encourage audience members to share their own stories and artwork in an open mic session after the formal program. You don’t have to make anything to attend, but if you’re game, there’s still time to rise to our Artists’ Challenge:

Make something—anything—
Having something—
Anything—to do
with Emily Dickinson.

All are welcome to attend this free program, but registration is required.

The formal program will begin at 3:00 PM ET and run for an hour.
Revelers may arrive as early as 2:45 PM ET to mingle and greet friends.
The open mic will remain open as long as it seems fit (but probably
not more than 2 hours), and you may come or go as you please.

To request an accommodation or to ask a question about access, please contact houghton_library@harvard.edu

By registering for this event, you are agreeing to abide by Houghton Library’s Events Code of Conduct:
We have chosen the Zoom Meeting format to support community-building during the pandemic. As a courtesy to others, we ask that you keep your microphone muted throughout the program.
