How can teachers support students in developing critical consciousness in a school that does not have a clear philosophy or plan around developing this skill?
Hello! Thank you so much for this presentation. I am wondering what measurement tools/questions did you utilize to gauge students' awareness of systemic racism or their continued growth and understanding (eg: activism)?
If you all were designing a new school from scratch, what are one or two practices or elements you would ensure are centered in the school plan to ensure this critical conciousness is grown?
Any lessons learned/best practices about how to process and learn from examples of interpersonal racism/oppression within the community . . . and connecting those lessons to school’s broader mission of critical consciousness and social action.
