Combs of Mountain Comp told EdRedesign about her recent activebystander intervention training with Green Dot, an opportunity funded and offered by Leslie FSCSstaff: “We are trying to invest in as many different people from as many different organizationsfrom the community as possible. It’s not just about throwing money around, but building ourown rapport, collaboration, and foundation. We may lose access to the money in the comingyears, but we will not lose what we have learned and what we have built together.”

In regards to that statement, have the costs associated with your work been written into the district budgets moving forward?

Do you all have any advice for small rural districts who are concerned that there aren't very *many* potential partners in the area? Also, that may feel like they're "competing" with their neighbors for access to services and partnerships? (As context, in California, some rural areas have a large number of small districts who all received (separate) CS funding, and are simultaneously trying to build up partnerships...

Getting districts around the same table and thinking win-win

Another quote from the case study “Robert leads the meeting, asking us to consider a certain set of questions: What makes our regionspecial? What have we seen are the effects on the pandemic on students? What are our needs?What are the benefits of the grant so far?” ”

Networking!

Family / Student Voice is another way to mute some of that scarcity mindset. When the stakeholders want change momentum, the system is primed to shift

Yes! We've found success bringing students from each of the districts together for the conversation.
