*installing wikibase* :)

15:01
Also not a bad idea to turn on your docker desktop if it is not on and running. It can take a second to get going…

Also, as zoom has probably told you, this call is being recorded. We’ll try to post the recording early next week.

30:27
my resources doesn't show the "Advanced" tab

30:44
just Proxies, Network, WSL Integration (Windows)

31:07
I'm on Docker Desktop for Windows and see the same options as Ruth. (No "advanced" tab)

33:08
unless someone in Windows found it!

33:39
for Docker on WIndows: "The Advanced tab is only available in Hyper-V mode, because in WSL 2 mode and Windows container mode these resources are managed by Windows. In WSL 2 mode, you can configure limits on the memory, CPU, and swap size allocated to the WSL 2 utility VM."

34:13
thank you Ryan

34:53
Thank you!

35:13
NB: make sure you don’t have any containers running when you try to modify Docker Destkop.

36:59
Blazegraph, Query Service, and QuickStatements not included in the docker image?

37:24
@Georgios -- I have all of those -- still figuring out how to log into QuickStatements

38:12
https://docs.google.com/document/d/147IwWY3-8uyyTcT-cQ93B1-ISIocXZyjfl-GKm3lkrg/edit

38:32
Thanks Ruth, yeah I will probably open a ticket in phabricator in the next few days, to somehow not require auth again for QuickStatements, if you're already logged in to the MW that it points to.

38:40
@Ruth @Georgios Getting Quickstatements to work would be amazing

41:20
This is so exciting! 🤓 Thanks for this background info

42:35
I've also been using PowerShell in windows for this and it works well

42:38

49:29
Jim if you're going to talk about updating then ignore this question, but I've heard that updating your WIkibase docker installation through docker (maintaining it) is harder than the initial installation. Have you tried updating your wikibase in newer versions?

50:34
thank you Jim, that was focused

50:59
where’s that BlazeGraph SPARQL config instruction?

52:15
Thanks! :)

52:53
Are there any ways to login to QuickStatements? Jim said he uses it a bunch...

52:54
It was a few slides back

53:04
https://github.com/wmde/wikibase-docker/blob/master/wdqs/README.md

53:47
You had a note about having to disable permissions, or something

54:00
One of my next tasks is to get quickstatements to work - especially the Oath setup - can you point us to documentation that worked for you?

54:08
they hired the Blazegraph team a few years back

54:55
Can you speak a bit more about the “import” feature to import other properties/items from Wikidata?

01:01:28
Thanks!

01:01:42
php maintenance/importEntities.php --all-properties

01:01:42
funny Christine...

01:01:44
an import didn't actually work for me last night, got a php error I think, still looking

01:01:47
For us newbies can you say a bit about what we can now do once we have Wikibase installed and running?

01:02:58
Use cases that Jim mentioned: https://github.com/timothy-mendenhall/wikibase-use-cases/blob/master/UseCases-2020.md

01:03:21
Elizabeth, does this get toward answering your question, or were you asking for something more practical?

01:03:39
I was asking about the practical. I get the use cases. :)

01:03:53
In other words, now what can I do?

01:04:08
To Elizabeth’s question: Maybe it would be good to show the UI now that it is installed

01:05:00
Has anyone here imported ontologies into wikidata? (I’m curious about cidoc-crm)

01:06:33
That would be great, thanks!

01:06:43
I think I recall OCLC did a demo a while ago, and I believe they used pywikibot to import an ontology into their Wikibase instance. Might be wrong about that though

01:07:54
( I have a set of statements in FRBRoo that I’d like to play around with in wikibase — look forward to hearing more next time)

01:08:25
Clifford, I’d love to hear more about what you’re working on

01:08:25
Does anyone have a live local wikibase instance they could share?

01:08:33
I can share my screen

01:10:18
you’re not logged in

01:10:38
Very cool to even see the beginning of actually working in the new instance! Thank you!

01:10:45
I created 2 items (1 person, 1 work) and 1 property (creator) (data type: property)… but can't figure out how to link the 2 items to each other using the property.

01:11:31
Maybe something like this will be the subject of a future working hour?

01:12:26
Thanks Joe!

01:12:47
same as Matthew -- Q2 isn't showing up when I try relating it to Q1 via P1

01:14:13
I feel like I ran into that and figured it out, but I don’t recall what I did

01:14:20
Thanks so much!

01:14:26
This was a great intro! Thank you all!

01:14:38
Please upload this to youtube!

01:14:47
Thank you

01:14:48
Thanks Jim, thanks Christine - Awesome - I learned a lot

01:14:59
Thank you so much!

01:15:02
Thx, very interesting and useful.
