Getting to the post-pandemic era: Herd Immunity, Social Distancing, and Vaccine - Shared screen with speaker view
Who can see your viewing activity?
but the graph you showed is just the first phase, we will have to do it again and again, no?
Yes, that is likely the case
is there a possibility that folks could carry the virus from the summer months into the fall/winter season?
What if we loosened social distancing for the summer, then reinstated it more during the fall/winter?
Given that vaccines are of limited effectiveness, will this likely eliminate the virus?
How do you take into account the health impacts of a closed economy? (Hunger, limited access to non-covid related healthcare, small hospitals struggling financially, etc)
Yonatan - since your STAT article on April and since your talk at the Broad a month ago, has your modeling changed at all? Do we know enough about this virus in order to model better/differently than we did a month ago?
Can we estimate the contribution of limited PPE availability on the transmission rates that we have seen in the health care community?
Obviously long term care facilities have been hit hard. Do you think it's possible to prevent a second wave from impacting this population even more?
If you were in charge, based on what we know now (knowing that can change), what recommendations would you put in place in the short term?
woukd you then encourage large crowd activities this summer?
are there ways to stratify population to increase immunity e.g. K-12 & college kids back to schools; immune compromised and elderly maintain distancing; basically we take care of those commuites
Let’s say there is a lack of leadership in maintaining social distancing. Does it make a difference if we as individuals continue it?
On PPE, I think folks are still confused about when to wear PPE. We have heard some folks are afraid to open their windows because they feel the air will bring the virus into their home. The average person is still confused about how to protect themselves.
I am particularly concerned for the mental health for those who are socially isolated, older adults, those with disabilities, those on the front lines, etc. Is there data on this or a need for specific kinds of intervention research?
thanks very much- this was excellent! will it be recorded/available anywhere to share with colleagues?
Thank you - very helpful!
This was great. Thank you.
thank you Karen and Bekka for putting this series together
