Maybe greying out non-mutable notices isn't so bad after all, because people might wonder why they still receive some notices although they have turned off "all" notices.

Yes, we receive lots of notifications as admins / curators... Currently we filter via sender address to not get overwhelmed, but more fine grained sounds PERFECT
