Practical strategies for re-engaging students in the math classroom
As we continue to grapple with the impact and continuing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, we know that student engagement in the math classroom is more important than ever. But what does student engagement in math classrooms really mean? What does it look like and sound like to engage students in the doing and reasoning of mathematics? And how do we effectively engage students in those practices?

This webinar will discuss how the research defines high levels of student engagement in math instruction and strategies for achieving it. Our panel will consist of teachers and coaches from the MQI Coaching program. This program uses the MQI, a math-specific observation rubric, as a lens to support teachers in achieving math instruction that engages all students. Panelists will share how the MQI rubric and the coaching process have influenced their planning, instructional practices they have implemented to elevate on student engagement and the positive impact it has had on all their students.
