The Future of Africa-Based Curatorial Practice
This 2-day workshop, hosted by the Harvard Center for African Studies, will interrogate the state of African curatorial practice and identify areas for growth. The conference will revolve around two keynote lectures and four panels, including discussions to review models in Africa-based curation; consideration of the next steps in the restitution process; interrogating curation that brings together historic and contemporary African art; and exploration of how the public views and interacts with art.

This workshop is hosted in collaboration with the Harvard Art Museums, Hutchins Center Cooper Gallery of African & African American Art, and the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology and will be held at the Harvard Art Museums.
