Climate finance and climate-related financial disclosure regulation: Ms. Vesselina Haralampieva, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

Join HELA and LIDS for a presentation by Ms. Vesselina Haralampieva, Senior Counsel at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Ms. Haralampieva will be sharing the EBRD’s latest work in relation to climate finance and climate-related financial disclosure regulatory regimes and trends.

As Senior Counsel in the Legal Transition Team of the EBRD, Ms. Haralampieva is in charge of developing and implementing projects to advance policy, legal and regulatory reforms in the power and energy sector, environment and climate change areas in the EBRD region. The EBRD’s countries of operation includes nearly 40 countries from central Europe to central Asia and beyond. Her advisory work focuses on supporting the EBRD’s private and public sector clients in transitioning to a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy in line with the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). In addition, Ms. Haralampieva is leading the implementation of programs aimed at enhancing climate governance, disclosure and management of climate-related risks and opportunities at EBRD's clients.  
 
Ms. Haralampieva has worked for over 11 years at the EBRD in different capacities. Before joining the EBRD, she worked at international and not-for-profit organizations, the Harvard University Berkman Klein Center, and law firms in Sofia and Washington, D.C. Ms. Haralampieva is admitted to practice as a solicitor in England & Wales and as a lawyer in Bulgaria. She holds law degrees from Harvard Law School (LL.M.) and Sofia University (Master of Laws, summa cum laude).
